Glynnis (Penhall) Neal started cosmetology at Plano East Senior High, and she knew that was what she wanted to do with her life. After graduating, she continued to study cosmetology at Baldwin Beauty School in Austin, from where she graduated and received her license in 1998.
She apprenticed for 18 months under Ron Crouch at the famous Salon at Stanley Korshak. Ron, a professional stylist at high end salons for over 40 years, opened his own University Park salon in 2000, Marshall Edward Salon, and hired Glynnis as a full-time stylist. She started building clientele and worked her way to Director of Education. Sadly, Marshall Edward closed after four years, and she found herself searching for a new home, and ended up at Zeo Salon at Travis Walk for a two year transitional period.
Glynnis then moved to Select Salon and spent five years self-employed as a hairstylist and color expert, then relocated to Salon Boutique in Highland Park for five years. She has traveled the U.S. and Canada teaching for L’anza and Primary Syn and worked back stage at fashion shows for DIFFA (Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS) and UNT School of Fashion.
Glynnis has taken classes with Nick Arrojo, resident stylist on TLC’s What not to Wear; Oscar Bond, Lanza creative director and celebrity stylist; Martin Parsons, international long hair styling specialist; and Orlando Pita, celebrity stylist. She attends hair and beauty conventions every year such as International Beauty Show, New York, NY; Midwest Beauty Show, Chicago, IL; Premiere Show, Orlando, FL; and Hair World, Las Vegas, NV.
